Review:
The Beginner's Bible is the perfect introduction Bible for children ages 4-8 (and even younger).  We already own the older version and love it.  My son (who is almost 3) wants to read the stories over and over again.  His favorite is David and Goliath, which we have read too many times to count, but after we read his favorite he wants to read the whole Bible page to page.  The new 3D illustrations in this updated version are so colorful and engaging.  My son and I love that there is artwork on every page.  It really brings the stories to life.  I will continue to use this Bible with my son and daughter for years to come.  Very highly recommended.  :)  I received this Bible free to review from FlyBy Promotions.

Night Night, Farm by Amy Parker Review & Giveaway

About the book: Night Night, Farm
Author: Amy Parker
Illustrated By: Virginia Allyn

Moo moo, cows!
Baa baa, sheep!
When the sun sinks low down on the farm, the animals are all tuckered out from the day’s adventures. Join these adorable farm animals in pajamas as they say night night to the farm, to their mommies and daddies, and to God.
Your little ones will sleep until the rooster crows knowing that the God who made them loves them too.
Night night, farm!

About the author:
Amy Parker’s children’s books have sold more than 800,000 copies including two Christian Retailing’s Best award-winning books and the bestselling A Night Night Prayer. She lives outside Nashville with her husband and two children.

Review:
Night Night, Farm is a delightful children's board book that is perfect for a nap or bedtime story.  My son already owned A Night Night Prayer by Amy Parker and it has been a favorite to read at night.  This addition is no different.  The first thing I love is that it is sturdy with a puffy cover.  The illustrations are colorful and fun.  The book goes through different animals on the farm getting ready for bed.  My kids love seeing the animals and making their sounds.  I'm really loving reading it with my baby girl because she hasn't learned the animals or sounds yet (Educational is always a plus! The story also has rhyme, which is great for phonological awareness).  The book ends saying "Night Night" to God who made the animals and you!  :)  I would definitely recommend this book for any younger child.  I received this book free to review from FlyBy Promotions.

UpSpring Breastfeeding Products

Breastfeeding can be hard, but there are products available that can make it a little bit easier. I received UpSpring breastfeeding products free to review from Influenster, but all opinions are my own. They sent me Milk Flow Drink Mix, Wellmom Nipple Balm, & Milkscreen.

Milk Flow is a drink mix that contains both fenugreek and blessed thistle to increase milk supply. While I know removal of milk (supply and demand) is the most important factor in maintaining a good milk supply, I'm always up to try anything that could even potentially increase milk supply because you don't want to stop breastfeeding because you dried up before you or your baby is ready to stop. It comes in three flavog-» Chocolate, Citrus, & Berry. I mixed the chocolate with milk and and the other two with water. None of them tasted very good to me, but orange was most tolerable (chocolate and then berry). Fenugreek is such a strong taste, it's just very hard to hide. I did feel like my milk supply was better after drinking it, but it's hard to really tell because I don't pump. I probably would take a pill form over the drink mix, but if I felt like my milk supply was dropping I'd take any form that would help me.

The Wellmom Nipple Balm is made with organic coconut oil and is used to soothe, moisturize, and heal cracked nipples. I really like this as an alternative to lanolin. I felt like it moisturized really well and it's nice to know I don't have to worry about wiping it off before my baby nurses because it is made with clean, pure ingredients. I even used it on my lips like chapstick and it moisturized well.

Milkscreen are test strips that detect alcohol in breast milk. Breast milk is like gold and I don't want to have to throw away anything I pump. If you have had some drinks, these strips can tell you whether you need to pump and dump afterwards or if it is safe to save the milk for later. I think this is great because you don't have to guess when it is safe to feed your baby, you can just test and be sure. They are easy to use and tell your results fast.

PHIL WICKHAM "CHILDREN OF GOD" CD Review

Phil Wickham "Children of God" CD Review
Review:  Phil Wickham's "Children of God" CD is full of passion and praise.  I've always enjoyed his music and was stunned to find out that he had surgery to remove a vocal polyp that could have ended his professional career.  Thankfully, the surgery went well and his vocal chords healed.  The experience gave Phil a new perspective and purpose for his music.
My kids and I have listened to the CD countless times in the van since we received it.  It has been a welcome break for me from endless children's music. :) LOL.  My 2 year old son doesn't demand I change the CD and actually is engaged, asking me the names of the songs.  The music is smooth and worshipful.  It brings me joy and seems to keep the van ride calm and peaceful.  The songs are big...I could see most of them being sung in church, especially the single "Your Love Awakens Me".
I really enjoy so many of the songs that it is hard to pick a favorite.  "Doxology/Amen" is just beautiful.  There is this one note in the song that gets me every time. In "The Secret Place" featuring Madison Cunningham, Phil and Madison's voices blend really well together.  I really connect with  "As It Is In Heaven" because I want to put all my pride and ambitions aside and make Jesus the center of my life like the songs words say, even though I struggle with doing this in every area.  "Spirit of God" is another favorite.  Really I just like the whole album.  It is catchy and has a great message.
I received a free copy of Phil Wickham's "Children of God" CD from Flyby Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

ESV Family Devotional Bible

Review: The ESV Devotional Bible is a wonderful resource for any family, especially those with children.  I love that it has the full text of the Bible (ESV Version) along with 130 Bible stories written in language that anyone can understand. Each Bible story includes a devotion that comprises of questions to explore with the family and a key Bible verse.  The illustrations are colorful, vibrant, and engaging.  Maps are included at the end of the Bible to further your understanding.  The book mark ribbon is a great addition, making it easy to keep track of the current story or section of the Bible you plan to read next.  I plan to use this devotional with the family after dinner once the kids get a little bigger.  Just don't leave it out for really young kids to peruse....the pages are thin and could easily be ripped out.  :)  Something I'm very aware of at this stage...my child will rip and even chew on the pages of some books.
